Healthcare Reports Product Review Summary
This case is a 66-year-old married female who suffers from poorly controlled insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.  The total insulin dosage is typically in the 40 to 60 total units per day, a combination of fast-acting and NPN forms.  There are serious consequences in this case, namely azotemia from renal insufficiency, hyperlipidemia, and hyperphosphatemia.  There are also lower extremity ulceration and neurodystrophy.  Evidence of eye disease has not been present.  This patient uses a glucometer to measure her blood sugar at least twice a day, or as her experience dictates, and bases her values to manage medication dosage.

Beginning in February of this year [2006], it was agreed to have this patient begin a trial with 1 drop of Natural Cellular Defense 3 times a day.  Knowing this patient’s background, plus the probability that the sequestering activity could significantly reduce blood sugar, dosage was kept very low.   In March, there was evidence the leg ulcers improved notably when we saw her.  We increased dosage to 2 drops 3 times daily at that time.

COMMENT

This situation is a good case study to follow in that urine and blood tests are done monthly.  It appears in this case that blood sugar is better controlled when using the product in this particular case.  We see some worsening of renal clearance values, but that has been observed in previous years, always in the spring months.  Certainly if another physician is to follow a similar case, it would be wise to select a patient who monitors the blood sugar consistently, and even more importantly one who does not live alone.  Noting the fasting sugar this month, it is essential that a patient be informed of the risk of hypoglycemic complications.    There is a major shift in coronary risk from the blood fats.
